My handmade tribal macaroni bead was the inspiration for these incredible earrings. The tube-like beads are matte finish with a tribal design in old world pink on the outside and crackled, worn ceramic style high gloss bamboo green on the inside. After texturing and curing the clay beads I hand paint them with a variety of materials. This process goes on for several layers and hours of drying time. Once the outside is finished, the inside gets a separate layered treatment until it looks juuuuust right. A little worn, cracked treasure. The tribal macaroni bead is then sealed and cured again. Through the center of the bead is a hand forged copper bow that has been hammered and given an aged look. Small faceted crystals begin the ascent up fine blackened copper chain, to meet below one more small crystal, Czech seed beads and a large specialty Czech glass bead in translucent green with a core of champagne pink. Faceted crimson pearls crest the top of the earring just before rising up the handmade sterling silver ear wires. Ear wires are wrapped in hair fine wire and decorated with luminescent Czech beads in avocado green and teensy faceted glass crystals in deep blush. All metal is sealed with museum grade micro-crystalline wax and may still continue to patina in a natural way over an extended time period.
