Heavy gauge copper wire is torched, scorched, bent and hammered into a horseshoe shape before being drizzled with bits of silver solder. Quartz crystal points tinted with gray-blue titanium are capped with soft silver solder (containing real silver) and lodged at the base of these old, small horseshoes with fine silver pegs. They are crowned by hair thin, fine silver wrapping with sailor blue Swarovski crystals and Czech beads. In the crows nest are two handmade lampworked glass beads with shades of the sea encased in a clear dome of glass. These drops of blue are wire woven into place with the smallest copper wire and adorned on the back with a deep red Czech bead. Gotta look nice from all angles! The ear wires are handmade by me out of Sterling Silver, oxidized and then wrapped with three luminous Czech seed beads to add that glint of light. Details, details.. how I love them. All of the metal has been aged and then highlights have been burnished back to reveal the time worn essence of the piece. All metal has been sealed with museum grade micro-crystalline wax.
Measures 2.5″ inches from top of ear wire to bottom of crystal.
